Obituary for Jane Taylor
Jane Taylor, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Gowin Parc, in Mattoon, IL.
Jane was born on July 20, 1933 in Oakland, IL to John and Dorothy (Shoot) Wigginton. She married Richard Harold Taylor on December 12, 1954 in Oakland, IL.
She is survived by three children: Brad (Jeannie) Taylor of Oakland, IL, Craig Taylor of Oakland, IL and Andrea (Jeff) Taylor Flairty of Bloomington, IL; nine grandchildren: Erin (Jake) Mooney of Terre Haute, IN, Cole Taylor of Bradenton, FL, Ryan (Becky) Taylor of Norfolk, NE, Luke (Meg) Taylor of Oakland, IL, Brett Taylor of St. Louis, MO, Matthew and Jonathan Taylor of Oakland, IL, and Shae and Gage Flairty of Bloomington, IL; and three great-grandchildren: Grace, Will, and Leah Jane Mooney of Terre Haute, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Kay Boyer; a grandson, Zach Taylor; and a daughter-in-law, Angela Taylor.
Jane began a very successful career as a business teacher at Oakland High School and went on to spend many years as a bookkeeper for Tabor Grain. She ended her career at Lincolnland Visiting Nurse Association. Jane was an avid reader, and she loved to do crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. Above all, she loved following her kids and grandkids in their extracurricular activities.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland Memorial Library.
