Dan first became interested in funeral service when he worked for the funeral home in his home town mowing the lawn and washing cars as a high school student. He graduated from Southern Ilinois University in 1995 with a degree in mortuary science. In addition to operating the funeral home, Dan serves the community as a volunteer firefighter, elder in his church, and serves on the board of the Oakland area Chamber of Commerce. Dan and his wife, Erin, have been married since 1992 and have nine children.
