Obituary for Bonnie Lee Jenness
Bonnie Lee (Minnick) Jenness, age 85, of Chrisman, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. Bonnie was born October 23, 1926 in Chrisman, IL to James McClellan and Hilda Elva (Ress) Minnick. She married James Benjamin Jenness on May 21, 1950 at the Chrisman United Methodist Church; he survives She is also survived by four children: Dixie (Barney) Webb of Ankeny, IA, Jim Jenness of Chrisman, IL; Joy Stewart of Chrisman, IL and Joe (Debbie) Jenness of Big Rock, IL; a sister, Shirley Adams of Navarre, FL; seven grandchildren: Trevor Ashton of Lexington, SC, Brittany Hamolia of Odenton, MD, James Jenness of Redmon, IL, Hildie Webb of Davenport, IA, Barnard Benjamin Webb, Ankeny, IA, Katie Joan Jenness of LeRoy, IL, and Joe Andrew Jenness of Big Rock, IL; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Chrisman. She held several bookkeeping jobs and was a teller at the Chrisman First National Bank for many years. She was a member of the Chrisman United Methodist Church and a 60 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening, and was well known for her beautiful flower gardens. Most of her time and energy was devoted to her family and friends, and particularly on her husband and love of her life, Ben. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village Activity Fund or the Chrisman United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
