Obituary for Thelma Reed
Thelma (Stultz) Reed , age 73, of Lake Village, IN and formerly of Chrisman, IL, went to heaven suddenly on Tuesday January 25, 2011. at the Jasper County Hospital ER. Thelma was born on June 9, 1937 in Chrisman, IL to the late William and Edna May (Stoops) Stultz. Thelma had been a resident of Lake Village, IN for 51 years and previously had lived in Crown Point, IN and Chrisman, IL. On May 10, 1959 in Chrisman, IL Thelma married the late Herman Carter Reed, Jr. She was a graduate of Chrisman High School, was employed from 1981 to 2008 by Smurfit Stone, Portage, IN in which she retired in 2008. Most importantly, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Thelma is survived by two sons: Mark Carter ( Dawn) Reed of Fair Oaks, IN, Jay Wesley Reed of Lake Village, IN; a daughter Cora Lee Reed of Plant City, FL; six grandchildren, Christopher Carter Reed, Mathew Joseph Reed, Nicholas Jay Reed, all of Fair Oaks, IN, Ashley (Bud) Reed, T.C. Dutton and Keisha Dutton; one sister Ann Ferrante of Chrisman, IL; and two brothers Phil Stultz of Georgetown, IL and John Stultz of Ridgefarm, IL. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna May(Stoops) Stultz and her beloved husband, Herman Carter Reed, Jr. Friends may call on Saturday January 29, 2011 at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CST. Funeral services for Thelma will also be held on Saturday January 29, 2011 at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Coe officiating.
