Obituary for Ray Finis Woodyard
Ray Finis Woodyard, age 91, of Ashmore, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home.

Ray was born August 10, 1924 in Coles County, IL to John and Sarah (Keigley) Woodyard. He married Ethel Richey on September 29, 1947; she preceded him in death in 2012. Ray worked as a farmhand most of his life, and also worked as a custodian at the Ashmore Grade School and at Eastern Illinois University. He was a member of the Ashmore Baptist Church and the Charleston Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing Bingo with his wife and watching boxing on television; and he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by two children: Monte Woodyard of Ashmore, IL and K. Douglas (Susan) Woodyard of Ashmore, IL; a brother: Leo Woodyard of Paris, IL; four grandchildren: Krista Dawn (Mark) Lindsey of Mattoon, IL, Kayla (Mike) Parsley of Brocton, IL, Tiffany (Alan) Ingle of Toledo, IL, and Cory Woodyard of Ashmore, IL; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ashmore Baptist Church. Visitation and viewing will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Ashmore Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Ashmore Baptist Church or to Lincolnland Hospice. Krabel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
