Obituary for Neoma June Harvey
Neoma June (Ramsey) Harvey, age 86, of Oakland, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at her home. Neoma was born May 29, 1924 in Hindsboro, Illinois to Clyde and Neva (Thomas) Ramsey. She married Roy Mack Harvey on May 13, 1946 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. She was a lifelong resident of Oakland, and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the Hindsboro Christian Church. She enjoyed bowling, and was a devoted grandmother who always attended any event her grandchildren participated in. She had a generous spirit and was always available to help her friends and neighbors in any way she could. She is survived by her son, Butch Harvey of Oakland, IL and his friend, Glenda Millsap of Villa Grove, IL; a daughter, Billijeanne (Paul) Belobraydic of Oakland, IL; two brothers, Bud Ramsey of Hindsboro, IL and Homer (Lena) Ramsey of Arcola, IL; two sisters, Frances (Bob) Wells of Camargo, IL and Bonnie (Bruce) Mason of Arcola, IL; five grandchildren: Gary Belobraydic, Dawn Taylor, Brad Harvey, Justin Harvey and Bobby Harvey; seven great-grandchildren: Blake Belobraydic, Dane Taylor, Taylor Harvey, Ethan Harvey, Taylor Pierce, Makayla Davis and Colton Harvey; and two special friends, Wanda Dortch and Lois Klienmeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Johnny Ramsey and two sisters, Bessie Miller and Louise Pierson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, and on Monday, January 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Van Voorhis Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Hindsboro Civic Center in care of the funeral home.
