Obituary for Myra Marie Duranceau
Myra M. (Ferguson) Duranceau, age 88, of Oakland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Newman Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Newman, IL. Mrs. Duranceau was born May 5, 1923 in Detroit, MI to Edward and Elmira (Hanlon) Ferguson. She married Frederick Duranceau on June 14, 1946; he preceded her in death on July 23, 1978. She was a resident of Bradenton, FL for 27 years before moving to Illinois. She worked as a bookkeeper and enjoyed ballroom dancing, reading, knitting and traveling. She is survived by six children, Carol (Ron) Clark of The Villages, FL, James (Mary) Duranceau of Marquette, MI, Deborah Duranceau of Nashua, NH, Diana (Jeff) Zimmerman of Oakland, IL, Steven (Bonnie) Duranceau of Orlando, FL and Michael (Karen) Duranceau of Ormand Beach, FL; seven grandchildren and one brother. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. No public services are scheduled. Interment will be held at a later date at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, FL. Krabel Funeral Home of Oakland, IL is handling arrangements for the family. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland Memorial Library or the East Oakland Park District in care of the funeral home.
