Obituary for MaDonna Rae Gates
MaDonna Rae (Kindred) Gates, age 85, of Chrisman, IL, died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at her home.
MaDonna was born January 24, 1936, in rural Chrisman, IL, to Earl J. and Wilma May (Baker) Kindred. She married William Laverne Gates on November 25, 1978; he preceded her in death on March 31, 1999.
She is survived by two children: Michael Scott (Donna) Malone of Chrisman, IL, and Melinda Sue (Rodney) Wolfe of Chrisman, IL; five grandchildren: Kayla (Mikey) Quick, Kenzie (Jon) Simpson, Josie (Eli) Grimes, Candice (Jeff) Lewsader, and Zachery (Myka) Hunter, all of Chrisman, IL; seven great-grandchildren: Landen, Aubree, Wiley, Sydney, Wyatt, Ava, and Evan; two brothers: James (Connie) Kindred of Chrisman, IL, and Earl (Pam) Kindred, Jr. of Chrisman, IL; and a sister-in-law, Renea Kindred of Chrisman, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother: John Kindred and two sisters: Virginia Gilkerson and Bev Daily.
MaDonna was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and crochet. She previously was employed as an activity aide in long term care.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Hoult Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
