Obituary for Lucille Irene Vest
Lucille Irene Vest, age 86, formerly of Chrisman, IL died at 7:37 a.m., December 26, 2012 at Casey Healthcare in Casey, IL. Lucille was born October 28, 1926 to Myrtle Vice and Otis Vest. She grew up in the house her parents built on South Ohio Street; graduating from Chrisman High School, where she won many band medals. Being an adventurous girl, Lucille graduated on a Friday evening in 1944 and on Saturday took the bus to Chicago where she rented a room at the YWCA. On Monday morning, she reported to her new job working for the US government in the war bond department. A few years later she returned to Edgar County where she married Howard Entrician. They had one son who was born prematurely and died shortly after birth. Lucille and Howard later divorced. She loved pretty clothes and worked in clothing retail settings. For several years prior to retirement she was a buyer of woman’s clothing for ten Meis Brother’s Department Stores in Indiana and Illinois. She made many trips to New York, Los Angeles and Miami selecting clothing to be sold in those stores. After retirement, Lucille returned home to the house on South Ohio Street. She enjoyed traveling, baking cakes for friends and driving her little red car. Marilyn and Larry Frizzelle were special neighbors to Lucille. When her health declined, she moved to Casey Healthcare where she lived comfortably and was well cared for. Lucille is survived by her sister, Dorothy Fletcher of Modesto, IL and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elvin and Ramon Vest and one infant son. She will be fondly remembered by her sister, Dorothy and her friends. Per Lucille’s request no services will be held. Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman is assisting with arrangements.
