Obituary for Keith A. Lawlyes
Keith Allen Lawlyes, age 71, of Chrisman, IL went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Keith was born March 24, 1949 in Clinton, IN to Ira Earl and Jeanette Marie (Bougus) Lawyles. He married Gloria Sue Riggen on September 16, 1968, and they recently celebrated their 52nd anniversary. Keith was a member of First Baptist Church of Chrisman. He worked at Countryside Chevrolet in Chrisman, and later on in his retirement years spent much of his time working with Sue and their family at Riggen’s Frostop. He was an avid Illini Basketball and Florida Gators fan and enjoyed watching WWE wrestling. Most of all, Keith loved spending time with his grandkids, especially on their family trips to the beach. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and one son: Steven Lawlyes. He is survived by his wife, two children: David (Michelle) Lawlyes of Chrisman, IL and Mandi (Shawn) Cochran of Paris, IL; two sisters: Beverly Lawlyes of Paris, IL and Marsha (Richard) Baker of Chrisman, IL; thirteen grandchildren: Kiersten (Donny) Atterson; Karissa Lawlyes; Kassandra Lawlyes; Davie Lawlyes, Elias Lawlyes; Nate Parker; Kyle Shivlar; Mason (Kayleigh Weeding) Eslinger; Bailee Eslinger; Daisy Cochran; Carter Cochran; John Lawlyes; and Lydia Lawlyes; and one great-granddaughter due in February. A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Friends Chapel Cemetery in Scottland, IL. For those who wish, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Chrisman.
