Obituary for Karen Jean Marrs
Karen Jean (Dennison) Marrs, age 83, of Oakland, IL, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at her home while surrounded by her family.
Karen was born July 14, 1938, in Grandview, IL to James Porter and Marjorie (Findley) Dennison. She married Harold Eugene Marrs on August 22, 1954; he survives.
She is also survived by four daughters: Carla (David) Taylor of Oakland, IL, Kelly (Danny) Wright of Oakland, IL, Caryl (Edwin) Strader of Hindsboro, IL, and Kamey (John) Olinger of Hindsboro, IL; a brother: James Findley Dennison of Monticello, IL; ten grandchildren: Brittany Taylor, Tiffany Taylor, Jamie Wright Nixon, Kristin Wright Kleiss, Carter Strader, Claire Strader Whitmore, Nichole Corum Brophy, Michael Marrs Corum, Brittany Olinger Yantis, and Dustin Olinger; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather: Woodrow Norris; and a sister: Darlene Dennison Campbell.
Karen was a member of the Oakland Christian Church. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, knitting, coloring, crosswords, and bingo.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Embarrass Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland Christian Church, the Oakland-Hindsboro Charitable Foundation, or Carle Hospice.
