Obituary for Hazel Dean Bartley
Hazel Dean (Strode) Bartley, age 79 of Chrisman, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living.
Hazel Dean was born on April 3, 1935 to Paul and Pearl Strode in Tompkinsville, KY. She was married to Buford K. Bartley for over 50 years. She loved caring for others and worked at nursing homes for most of her life. Hazel Dean was a member of the Chrisman Christian Church, and she belonged to the Red Hatters Club. She enjoyed eating out at restaurants and helping her friends and neighbors. She never said a bad word about others and was known for her good disposition.
She is survived by two sons: Jack (Jayne) Bartley of Chrisman, IL and David (Tawna) Bartley of Villa Grove, IL; a sister, Louise Eakle of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren: Chad (Katrina) Bartley of Paris, IL, Brent (Brooke) Bartley of Paris, IL, Russell Bartley of Decatur, IL, Joshua (Brittany) of Hammond, IL, Matthew Bartley of Villa Grove, IL and Dylan (Ashley) Bartley of Las Vegas, NV; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn (John) Dillon of Metcalf, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the family in care of Krabel Funeral Home.
