Obituary for Edna Marie Strader
Edna Marie (Owens) Strader, age 80 of Oakland, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Newman Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Newman, Illinois. Edna was born July 31, 1931 to Paul H. and Kate (Grace) Owens. She married Nelson Strader on June 20, 1951, and they made their home in Newton, Illinois. Later they moved to back to Oakland where they settled and enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Edna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed collecting dolls and was an active member of the Oakland Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Randy (Tracy) Strader of Oakland, IL; two grandchildren, Paul (Kim) Strader of Sullivan, IL and Megan (Richard) Toon of Woodlawn, TN; three great grandchildren Colton Toon, Brittne McMahan and Chelse McMahan; one special niece Jeannie Miller, one special great niece Shawn Board and many other nieces and nephews . She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and five sisters. Visitation will be held at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Krabel Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland Christian Church or Newman Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in care of the funeral home.
