Obituary for E. Wayne Smithson
Wayne Smithson, age 53 of Oakland, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Wayne was born June 5, 1961 in Paris, IL to Ezra Wayne and Carolyn Louise (Brown) Smithson. He graduated from Oakland High School and worked construction in Chicago for twenty years. He was currently employed at Christensen Farms. He was a member of the Brocton Christian Church, previously volunteered as an assistant coach for Oakland Jr. High basketball, and loved golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his parents: Ezra and Carolyn Smithson of Oakland, IL; a sister, Dee Ann (Steve) Pearcy of Hindsboro, IL; his beloved niece, Allie Pearcy, of whom he was especially fond; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Brocton Christian Church, or to any charity of the donor’s choice.
