Doris Lorena Gossett, age 78, of Chrisman, died February 11, 2016 at Paris Community Hospital.
Doris was born January 1, 1938 in Paris, IL to Zeke W. and Helen (Wymer) Baugh. She married Bobby Richard Gossett on October 7, 1955. She was a lifelong resident of Chrisman, where she owned and operated Grandma’s Country Kitchen restaurant for many years. Doris enjoyed gardening, taking care of children and spending time with her family.
She is survived by eight children: Jan (Terry) Kroening of Mattoon, IL, Robin (Ron) Crosley of Chrisman, IL, Tim (Janet) Gossett of Metcalf, IL, Norma (Gary) Johnson of Chrisman, IL, Penny (Joe) Chase Kappas of Tuscola, IL, Melissa (Kirk) Mansfield of Urbana, IL, Robert (Christal) Gossett of Fisher, IL, and Cindy (Trent) Keen of Chrisman, IL; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, and six brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 5:00 p.m. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Edgar County Shop With A Cop program.
