Obituary for Anna M. Walsh
Anna Marie (Johnson) Walsh, age 85, of Paris, IL and formerly of Metcalf, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at her home.
Annie was born May 15, 1935 in Crooked Creek Township, Cumberland County, IL to John McCoy and Lu Belle (Thomas) Johnson. She married Roy Walsh on August 9, 1955; he preceded her in death on June 21, 2017.
She is survived by a daughter: Benita (James) Wallace of Leaner, TX; a brother: Dennis Johnson of Paris, IL; and two sisters: Mary Roberts of Neoga, IL, and Ruby Pinnell of Paris, IL. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Annie was a founding member of the Paris Southern Baptist Church. She formerly worked as a home health aide, and enjoyed crochet, fishing, cooking, baking, puzzles, reading, and studying the Bible. Annie spent her entire life caring deeply and giving selflessly to everyone she met. She was a child at heart and her uplifting spirit and humor brought so much joy and laughter. She will be sorely missed!
A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Shields Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Paris Southern Baptist Church.
