Obituary for Agnes Margaret Cler
Agnes Margaret (Kleiss) Cler, 98, of Tuscola, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at 5:48 p.m. She was born March 10, 1918, the daughter of Anthony Kleiss and Margaret (Reinhart) Kleiss. She married Herman Joseph Cler on October 17, 1936 in Villa Grove, Illinois. Agnes enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, camping, dancing, traveling to Florida with her husband, and embroidery. She was said to have made the best pies on earth. She dearly loved her family and being a mother. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Altar Society, the Sacred Heart Quilters, and the Moose Lodge Women’s Auxiliary. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Joseph Cler, one brother, three sisters, and a great-grandchild. She is survived by four daughters; Carol (Jim) Carter, Hindsboro, Illinois, Kathy Beyers, Urbana, Illinois, Barbara (Erin) Cler of Urbana, Illinois, Janet (Anthony) Piselli of Milford, Connecticut, and two sons; David (Isabelle) Cler, of Crete, Illinois, Roger (Mineko) Cler, of Champaign, Illinois, a brother Floyd Kleiss, Tuscola, Illinois, a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kleiss of Tuscola, Illinois, 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held Friday, November 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Villa Grove, Illinois. Friends may greet the family one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, monetary memorials in Agnes’ name may be made to the Camargo Township Library in Villa Grove or the Sacred Heart Parrish.
