Obituary for Pamela Kay Hudson
Pamela Kay (Miller) Hudson, age 52, of Hindsboro, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2016.

Pam was born March 27, 1963 in Effingham, IL to Terry and Mary (Stephens) Miller. She married Gary Hudson on March 20, 1996; he survives. She is also survived by three children: Brian Becker (Elizabeth Pullen) of Hindsboro, IL, Alex Hudson of Hindsboro, IL and Michael Hudson of Hindsboro, IL; her parents: Terry and Mary Miller of Watson, IL; a sister: Diane (Perry) Bushue of Shumway, IL; a brother: Steve (Michelle) Miller of Effingham, IL; and three grandchildren: Nolyn McLane, Brentley McLane and Kassidee Becker, all of Hindsboro, IL.

Pam was a member of Salisbury Church in Charleston. She previously operated the Country Crossroads newspaper in Oakland, IL and served as a board member of the Oakland Area Chamber of Commerce. Pam was an active member of her community, and spent countless hours behind the scenes organizing fundraisers and volunteering for events. She founded the Power Pack program in the Oakland School District to make sure that elementary kids were getting enough to eat over the weekends. She enjoyed geocaching and spending time with knitters and quilters, and loved supporting her kids as they participated in Tri-County sports and activities. Pam loved the Lord, loved her family, and loved her friends and community. Her faith, strength, generosity and humor will be missed by the many people who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL from noon to 8:00 p.m., with family present after 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Van Voorhis Cemetery. In accordance with Pam’s wishes, the family asks that friends not send flowers in her memory, but for those who wish, gifts may be made to the Power Pack Program or to a scholarship fund created in Pam’s honor. In addition, Pam also requested that everyone attending wear casual attire, as was her desire that her services were lighthearted and a celebration of her love of life rather than a somber and formal affair.
