Obituary for Harriet Arrasmith
Harriet B. Arrasmith, age 91, of Chrisman, IL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Colonial Manor in Danville, IL.
Harriet was born July 11, 1927 in Ridge Farm, IL to Daniel and Goldie (Yoho) Henderson. She was a lifelong resident of Chrisman and a member of the Chrisman Christian Church. She retired from the Chrisman school district as a bus driver, and she often said that after being a mom, being a school bus driver was the best job she ever had. She loved collecting magnets, and would ask all of her friends and relatives who traveled to bring a souvenir magnet back for her. Harriet married Walter “Bus” Arrasmith; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters: Marlena “Marty” (Don) Scrogham of Indianola, IL and Lorri Taylor of Westville, IL; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a son-in-law: Bob Campbell of Thawville, IL; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend and roommate at Colonial Manor, Genevieve Neil. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Penny Campbell; a son: Daniel Arrasmith; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Colonial Manor Activity Department.
