Sandra Edith Osburn, age 85, of Oakland, IL, peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on December 27, 2022.
Sandra was born April 26, 1937, in Oakland, IL, to Herschel Purl and Grace L. (McCord) Osburn. She attended the rural Busby School and Oakland High School. Sandra babysat for many children and worked at Katherine Magruder’s restaurant. She also supported and cared for her parents for many years. Sandra attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and cooked for the church camp. She enjoyed reading and watching westerns, and was a fan of John Wayne. Sandra was especially talented at embroidery, and many of her friends and family were blessed to receive her lovely handiwork. She was well known for her sense of humor and her kind, compassionate and gentle spirit. She was a special sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Sandra is survived by three sisters: Pat Goodman of Oakland, IL, Madonna Farrier of Elgin, IL, and Sharon Draper of Kirksville, MO; four nieces and three nephews that she loved as if they were her own children, as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew; and two brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at noon at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church.
