Obituary for Richard Alan Cash Gordon
Richard Alan Cash “Champ” Gordon, age 36, of Trilla, IL, formerly of Mattoon, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. Richard was born December 25, 1984 in Decatur, IL. He was a graduate of Mattoon High School Class of 2003. Richard loved to sing and listen to music. He enjoyed riding horses, watching football, getting tattoos, drinking Diet Mountain Dew, and spending time with his family. Most of all, he was a proud dad, and he dearly loved his kids, as well as his nieces and nephews. Richard always called himself “Champ”, but to his family he was their hero. Richard is survived by his parents: Rohn and Laura Gordon; his four children: Haley, Hayden, Daithyn and Brionna; a special friend: Shana Marie; his brother: Rohnny and his wife Sharia; and sisters: Racheal, Rhannee, and Brandi. A memorial service and pool tournament will be held to celebrate Richard’s life on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Mattoon, IL.
