Obituary for Rosetta Wright
Rosetta (Tucker) Wright, age 94 of Paris and formerly of Redmon, IL went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Rosetta was born November 21, 1917 to Nathan Anthony and Cecil (Butcher) Tucker. She married Wayne Ernest Wright on August 15, 1935. She was a lifelong resident of Edgar County, and owned and operated the Wright Way Laundry in Oakland with her husband for several decades. Rosetta and Wayne also managed the Redmon Soil Service for several years. She was an Avon Representative until 2006, and was a member of the Presidents Club for many years. Rosetta was very active in her community as a 58 year member of the Redmon Christian Church, a 60 year member of the Order of the Easter Star (Oakland Chapter), a 20 year 4-H Club leader, past president of the Home Extension Council in Edgar County, a former Cub Scout leader, and a past PTA president for the Redmon/Brocton school district. She also taught a Red Cross home nursing course in many of the home economics classes in Edgar County. Rosetta is survived by three children: Patricia Wright of Peoria, IL, Lois Taylor, and husband, Pete, of Oakland, IL and Walter Wright and wife, Kathy, of Villa Grove, IL; a brother, Bill Tucker and wife, Pat, of Woodland, IL; a sister, Doris Schroeder of Florida; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Tucker of Watseka, IL, Laverne Tucker of Indianapolis, IN and Ruth Tucker of Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Kim Goodwin, Wayne Goodwin and wife, Elizabeth, Toni Goodwin Waldschmidt, and husband, Tom, Star Taylor Toman and husband, Jeff, Bart Taylor and wife, Glenna, Missy Wright Jennings and husband, Tim, and Carrieann Wright Phegley and husband, Glen; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers: Ormal, Fred, Bob, Dale and Ken Tucker; and two sisters, Harriet Redman and Mary Taden. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. An Eastern Star memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Matt McGregor officiating. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Embarrass Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
