Obituary for Aleen Ramsey
Aleen Ramsey, 80, of Hindsboro, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Oakland Christian Church in Oakland, with Tony Crouch officiating. There will be no visitation. A private internment will be held at Van Voorhis Cemetery in rural Hindsboro at a later date. Aleen was born Dec. 15, 1929, in rural Hindsboro, the daughter of Oscar H. and Catherine Lippincott Motley. She married Granville "Bud" Ramsey on Dec. 15, 1947, at the Hindsboro Methodist Church. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Agan of Hindsboro, and Beverly (Harold) Hunt of Oakland; four grandchildren, Chad (Shelly) Agan of Charleston, Janice Hunt of Oakland, Ryan Agan of Hindsboro, and Craig (Heather) Hunt of Oakland; three great-grandchildren, Nick Agan of Charleston, and Ramsey and Kaylenn Hunt of Oakland; and one sister, Cheryl (Ed) Miller of Dalton City. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Motley and Pick Motley. She was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She had been a member of her Bunco group for more than 50 years. She once served as a trustee on the Hindsboro Village Board, and she served as an election judge for several years. Aleen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her wisdom, humor, integrity and selflessness will be greatly missed
