Obituary for Kelvin Duaine Kresin
Kelvin Duaine “Short” Kresin, age 63, of Chrisman, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. at Paris Community Hospital. Mr. Kresin was born April 3, 1946 in Tuscola, Illinois to Earl Robert and Wilma Edna (Schweineke) Kresin. He lived in the Chrisman area over thirty years, moving from Homer, Illinois. He was a farmer and raised a variety of livestock. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Paris, the Chrisman Area Community Club and formerly was a member of the Homer Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed reading, watching his Fox News, dining out at a variety of restaurants, hanging out with the “Coffee Club” and appreciated a good cigar from time to time. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Kresin; four sons, Eric Kresin of Savanna, IL, William Kresin of Terre Haute, IN, Skip (Cyndi) James of Homer, IL and Rick James of Chrisman; two daughters, Rebecca (Andy) Hicks of Manhattan Beach, CA and Karen (Aaron) Johnson of Westville, IL; one sister, LeAnn (Charles) Benner of Homer, IL; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Broadlands, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman Volunteer Fireman’s Association in care of the funeral home.
