Wilma “Ruth” Shaw, age 79 of Greenup, IL and formerly of Oakland, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Cumberland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Ruth was born August 9, 1935 in Tuscola, IL to Everett Nelson and Lucille Easter (Montgomery) Shaw. She retired from Western Union where she worked as an office supervisor. After her retirement, she occasionally worked as a food demonstrator at County Market and Walmart stores.
She is survived by a brother: Jim (Rosanne) Shaw of Champaign, IL; a sister: Peggy Shaw of Oakland, IL; three nieces: Dana Shaw, Tanya Shaw and Sherry Phelps; two great-nephews: Matthew and Aaron Phelps; and her “adopted” family: Norm and Deb Tracy of Greenup, IL, Nicole and Tom Beals and their children, Logan and Avery, of Charleston, IL, and KaLeigh and Greg Taylor and their children, Ella Brooke and Brady, of Charleston, IL, to whom she was lovingly known as “Grandma Ruth.” Nothing brought her more joy than caring for the Tracy children and grandchildren and sharing her life with them. She will be greatly missed by their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Evelyn Shaw.
