Obituary for Wayne E. Carrell
Wayne Eugene Carrell, age 72, of Charleston, IL passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020. Wayne was born January 29, 1948 in Charleston to Ralph Franklin and Mamie Louise (Craig) Carrell. He married Charlene Rae Wilson on December 15, 1972 and they enjoyed 47 years together. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, and a member of the Eagles Club in Charleston and the Charleston VFW Post 1592. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, and loved spending time with his grandkids. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son: Jason Carrell, and one sister: Norma Graham. He is survived by his wife; two children: Brandy (David) Biggs of Charleston, IL; and Amanda (Larry) Peters of Brocton, IL; three brothers: Ralph (Linda) Carrell of Mattoon, IL; John (Carol) Carrell of Oakland, IL; and Mark (Marcia) Carrell of Mattoon, IL; five grandchildren: Ashley, Kristopher and Taylor Biggs, and Brooklynn and Briar Peters; two great-grandchildren: Kaisen Brink and Aubrie Bailey, and one special friend, Dustin Harl of Charleston, IL. Cremation rites were accorded, and the family will hold a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Krabel Funeral Home.
