Obituary for Walter Quick, Jr.
Walter Quick Jr., age 89 of Chrisman, IL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, IL.
Walter was born September 14, 1928 in Tuscola, IL to Walter Quick, Sr. and Hulda Marie (Greve) Quick. He married Dorothy Mae Hines on December 31, 1949 in Brocton, IL. Walter was a farmer his entire life. He was a member of the Chrisman Christian Church, Edgar Masonic Lodge #829 and Edgar County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed riding and watching horses, watching NASCAR races, and he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing stories of his growing up years.
Walter is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Quick of Chrisman, IL; two children: Leslie (Theresa) Quick of Newman, IL and Carolyn (Bill) George of Oakwood, IL; three sisters: Helen Barrett, Phyllis Williams and Patricia Reeley; six grandchildren: Lauri (Dennis) Flaherty, Heather (Joel) Vargas, Gayle Moss, David (Jodie) Myers, Josh (Kelli) Quick, and Mike (Kayla) Quick; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Dorothy Barrett, Eileen Church and Retha Keller.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Young America Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman Christian Church.
