Teresa Coffman Deckard was called to heaven on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving husband, William, and her dog, Bodie.
Teresa is the daughter of John and Joy (Duckworth) Coffman of Oakland, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, William Deckard; son Travis Thomas (Leanne) of Potomac, IL; bonus daughter: MaryAnn Atwater (Drue White) of Tuscola, IL; brother: Rick Coffman (Cathy) of Abilene, TX; and nephew: Judd Coffman (Stormie) of Ashmore, IL. Teresa took great pride in her grandchildren: Zachary, Madison, Ethan, and Reese Thomas of Potomac, IL and bonus grandchildren: Christopher and Mitchell Atwater of Tuscola, IL.
She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Mark Prill. She met Mark while working in Chicago and still has a strong bond with the Prill family.
Teresa graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1970. Her employment over the years took her from Tuscola to Indy to Las Vegas to New Mexico to Chicago, and then returned to Oakland. With those moves came the ever loved baby grand piano that no one loved but her.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed preserving the fruits of her labor. Teresa also felt that she was in God’s presence while working outside at her country home.
She and William spent many weekends riding their Harley and enjoying the company of friends. Her weekends also included car shows and watching her nephew, Judd, drag race.
Teresa recently had taken the love of quilting and sewing with her sister-in-law, Cathy.
Teresa had a special bond with “Sis”, as she referred to Carol Coffman, along with her “daughter” she never had, Stormie Coffman. What a team they were.
When you sat down to chat with Teresa, you better have a pot of coffee and an hour to spare.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
