Obituary for Syble B. McKnight
Syble B. (Fulton) McKnight, age 90, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL. Syble was born October 10, 1921 in Kemper County, MS to Hueston and Vadie (Luke) Fulton. She owned Mack’s Gulf Service Station from 1953-1973 and was the desk manager of the Holiday Inn in Gulfport, MS for 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach, Eastern Star, and the Long Beach Mardi Gras Association, where she served in many capacities including Mardi Gras Queen. Syble was an avid bridge and bingo player, and a loyal New Orleans Saints fan. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends and family. Syble moved to Chrisman, IL after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She enjoyed living at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, where she made many friends and was blessed with tender caregivers. She is survived by one son, James B. (Maxine) McKnight of Chrisman, IL; four grandchildren, Tracey Rademacher of Chrisman, IL, Gwen (Scott) Ross of Chrisman, IL, Homer L. (Kelley) McKnight of Diamondhead, MS and Jay (Melinda) McKnight of Gulfport, MS; nine great-grandchildren, ReAnna Rademacher of Phoenix, AZ, Taylor, Logan, Nathan and Shelby Ross of Chrisman, IL, Blakeney and Trey McKnight of Diamondhead, MS, and Payton and Reagan McKnight of Gulfport, MS; four brothers, Luke Fulton, Clinton (Martha) Fulton, Arnold Fulton, and Ronald (Yvonne) Fulton; a sister, Sara (Sonny) Adams; and a daughter-in-law, Sonya McKnight of Picayune, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Homer L. McKnight, Sr.; two brothers, Marvin and Earl Fulton; a sister, Imogene Edwards; and a great-grandson, Jared Lee Rademacher. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the PMCV Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
