Obituary for Steven Leon Harris
Steven Leon Harris, age 52, of Oakland, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2014.
Steven was born August 27, 1961 in Joliet, IL to Carl Leon and Linda Bell (Sloat) Harris. He married Suzan Ruth Chambers on December 5, 1998; she survives.
He is also survived by two children: Samantha Perry of St. Petersburg, FL and Lucas Umphries of KY; two sisters: Cindy Good of Oakland, IL and Cris Handley of Ashmore, IL; four grandchildren: Alyssa Padgette, Jonathan Rowe, Bridgette Thibodeau and Tatiana Matos; one great-grandchild: Evan Padgette and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steven was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Arcola and enjoyed playing guitar.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Missionary Baptist Church in Arcola, IL. Krabel Funeral Home of Oakland is handling arrangements for the family. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
