Obituary for Stephen Ollie Lankster
Stephen Ollie Lankster, age 73, of Redmon, IL, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Paris Healthcare Center.
Stephen was born November 19, 1948, in Huntsville, AL to Nathan Ollie and Lillie Emma (Davis) Lankster. He married Barbara Darlene Shaffer on November 21, 1966, Ollie and Lillie Emma (Davis) in Huntsville, AL to Nathan was born November 19, 1948 and they enjoyed 55 five years of marriage; she survives.
He is also survived by two children: Stephen (Angi) Lankster, Jr. of Borton, IL, and Stacey (Marc) East of Paris, IL; a brother: Timothy Lankster of Lincoln, NE; and two grandchildren: Brinley East and Lauren Weber. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Stephen worked in maintenance at Paris Community Hospital and previously worked at Trailmobile. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Redmon Fire Protection District for over ten years, and also served on the Redmon Village Board. He enjoyed fishing, camping and sightseeing.
A graveside funeral will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Embarrass Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials in Stephen’s honor may be made to the Edgar County Animal Shelter.
