Obituary for Sharon Kay Kite
Sharon Kay (Parker) Kite, 69, of Oakland passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in her home. Sharon was born April 18, 1943 in Coles County, IL to Harold and Harriet (Fitzpatrick) Parker. She married Leonard Thomas Kite on January 27, 1963 in Oakland, IL. She was a lifelong resident of Oakland and a homemaker. She fulfilled her love for babies and children by running an in-home daycare for several years. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, camping, western line dancing and riding motorcycles. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Tom Kite of Oakland, IL; one daughter Michele Kite Hupp of Ashmore, IL; one son Danny (Lorrie) Kite of Oakland, IL; two brothers: Larry (Janet) Parker of Simi Valley, CA and Wayne (Brenda) Parker of Urbana, IL; three sisters: Lois Sexton of Simi Valley, CA, Frances Duzan of Oakland, IL, Jean (Gordon) Board of Paris, IL and Sandy Parker of Greenville, IL; three grandchildren: Christian Hupp of Ashmore, IL, Lennea Kite of Charleston, IL and Lindsey Beard of Oakland, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one brother-in-law. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. .
