Obituary for Sara O. Temples
Sara O. (Houk) Temples, age 95 of Oakland, IL passed away on August 12, 2021, at The Oaks Manor, Oakland, IL.
Sara was born September 1, 1925 in the town of Embarrass, in rural Edgar County, to Clarence and Verna (Craven) Houk. She married Harold Gene Temples of Oakland on May 4, 1946. Her husband, parents, brother James R. “Bob” Houk, and sister Harriet J. (Houk) Huckleberry proceed her in death.
Sara was a retired Registered Nurse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, crafts, and Mahjong.
She is survived by her four children: Andy (Terri) Temples of Oakland; Alan (Teresa) Temples of Champaign, IL; Cathy (Mike) Ainscough of Okawville, IL; and Carolyn (HJ) Haney of Sun Prairie, WI. She had 10 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Cremation was entrusted to Krabel Funeral Home, Oakland, IL. Per Sara's request, a private family inurnment service will be held at Oakland Cemetery.
