He is also survived by his daughter, Melissa (Tim) Wheeler of Oakland, IL; four grandsons: Leo, Cole, Lincoln and Tucker Wheeler of Oakland, IL; and a brother, Ricky (Deborah) Gallner of Boardman, OH; and several aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from GE and moved to Oakland after living most of his life in Ohio to be near his grandsons, who were the joy of his life. He was also an avid golfer and an Ohio State fan. He enjoyed NASCAR, loved classic muscle cars and collected old die cast and Tonka toys. He was a member of the Bethel Friends Church in Poland, OH and started the church food pantry and Angel Food ministry there. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, IL, with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Oakland V.F.W. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Bethel Friends Church in Poland, OH at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Bobby Murphy officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior, beginning at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that in Illinois, memorials be made to the Carle Auxiliary Guest House or the Oakland Fire Department. In Ohio, memorials may be made to the Bethel Friends Church Prayer Garden or the Pregnancy Help Center.
