Obituary for Robert James Ewing
Robert James Ewing, age 80, of Thomasboro, IL died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Bob was born April 11, 1932 in Buffalo, NY. After school, he joined the United States Air Force. He served for 16 years, during the Korean War, achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and retired in 1968. On May 12, 1972 he married Brenda Jo Rhoades. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; six children: Leslie (Coby) Prather, Matt (Michelle) Ewing, Mike (Shelly) Ewing, Herb (Linda) Ewing, Jason (Domonique) Ewing and Roy (Misty) Ewing; eight grandchildren and a very good friend, Ed Lutz, who lead him to Christ. He was preceded in death by one son, William Ewing. Graveside services and military rites will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the National Cemetery in Danville, IL at 1:00 p.m. Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Ewing family.
