Obituary for Robert Chandler Morris D.V.M.
Robert Chandler Morris, D.V.M. age 89 of Paris, IL, formerly of Chrisman, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at his home.
Bob was born March 10, 1932 in Bloomfield, IL to Frank Wesley and Esther Mae (Chandler) Morris. He married Sara Walker on August 1, 1954, and they enjoyed over 66 years of marriage together. She survives. Bob was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1956. He operated a veterinary practice in rural Bargersville, IN for over 40 years. Bob was an active member of his community throughout his life. He was a faithful member of Mount Auburn Methodist Church, Providence Christian Church and the Chrisman United Methodist Church and served in many capacities. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge, previously served as Chairman of the Board at Franklin Bank & Trust in Indiana, volunteered as a local 4-H leader, and participated in the Johnson County Folk Music Society. He enjoyed running and ran in five different marathons, including the Boston marathon. After his retirement, he enjoyed helping his son on the farm and traveling, especially to Belize. He will be fondly remembered as a man who loved and served his family and community well. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Steven W. Morris, and one brother: James F. Morris. He is also survived by three sons: Robert D. (Nancy) Morris of Chrisman, IL; Richard F. (Laura) Morris of Stoughton, WI; and Timothy J. (Janet) Morris of Fairfield, OH; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Hoult Cemetery in Chrisman.
