Obituary for Phoebe Irene Miller
Phoebe Irene (Craig) Miller, age 93 of Chrisman was carried home on angels' wings to be with Jesus on Friday, August 10, 2012 from Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. Her work on earth is now complete and she's found the peace and rest she so richly deserves. Phoebe was born January 11, 1919 in Marshall, IL to Clarence Milo and Jennie Elizabeth (Mc Nary) Craig. She married James Carol Miller on November 6, 1937 at Newport, IN; he preceded her in death. Phoebe was a homemaker and before retiring in 1971 she worked long, hard hours on the farm with her husband, Carol. She was a member of the Chrisman Christian Church. She loved sewing and cross stitch and was a great cook. She is survived by six daughters, Helen (Dale) Baldwin of Chrisman, IL; Arlene (Roy) Borgwald of Perrysville, IN; Nancy Bischler of Henry, IL; Debra (Jim) Mitchell of Ridge Farm, IL; Linda (Jeff) Holloway of Charleston, IL; Terry Taber of Kansas, IL; and a sister, Anna Hewitt of Tresvant, TN; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 7p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens in Paris, IL. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in care of the funeral home.
