Nancy Jo (Bailey) Coon, age 72, of Arcola IL, formerly of Oakland, IL, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at her home.
Nancy was born January 14, 1952, in Mattoon IL, to Harold Kenneth and Mildred Anise (Earnest) Bailey.
Nancy is survived by two children, Kelly (Coon) Murphy (Matt) of Arcola, IL and Krystal Hill (Johnathan) of Borton, IL. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Rylee Hill, Brock Hill, Mitchell Murphy, and Mason Murphy; a brother: Danny “Beatle” Bailey (Carol Boroughs) and a nephew: Shane Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Gary Dean Bailey.
Nancy was a member of the Antioch Separate Baptist Church. She spent many summers volunteering as a cook and enjoyed fundraising for the Antioch Youth Camp. Nancy loved spending time with her family and grandkids. She also co-owned Coon and Coon Wallpapering and Painting with Irene Coon for over 27 years. Nancy enjoyed playing Bunco, Rummikub, Bingo, hanging out with her girlfriends and spending time at the beach in Florida where her favorite pastime was hunting seashells.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. For those who wish, memorials in Nancy’s honor may be made to Antioch Separate Baptist Church.
