Michael Eugene Maples, Jr., age 43, of Oakland, IL, died January 24, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Michael was born January 10, 1983, in Paris, IL, to Michael Eugene Maples, Sr. and Sandra Nickles. He was employed as a cook at Casey’s General Store in Oakland, IL.
Michael is survived by his mother: Sandra Nickles of Paris, IL; his grandmother: Nadine Nickles of Paris, IL; his grandfather: Harold Maples of Oakland, IL; his half-brother: Mark Maples of Germany; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael was an organ donor and saved many lives through his generous gift. Services will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorials in Michael’s honor may be made in care of Harold Maples to assist the family with final expenses.
