Merwyn Wayne Parsley, age 90, of Oakland, IL, passed away December 31, 2025, at his home.
Wayne was born October 27, 1935, in Villa Grove, IL, the son of the late Virgil and Mary Parsley. He married Alberta Duniphan on September 12, 1958, after dating for three years. They shared 70 wonderful years together.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. After leaving the Army, Wayne worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He then started his own land surveying business which he ran until he retired in 2020.
Survivors include his wife: Alberta Parsley of Oakland, IL; three sons: Gary (Deanna) Parsley, Steve (Shirley) Parsley, and Kevin (Michelle) Parsley; one sister: Judy Schnapp; nineteen grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Dean and Gene; and a sister: Janet.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Ashmore Community Center.
