Max Richard “Rich” Weaver, Sr., age 87, of Oakland IL, died Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Rich was born February 25, 1937, in Springfield, IL, to Max Heath and Mary Kathryn (Keller) Weaver. He married Judith Ann Taylor on February 8, 1958, in Springfield, IL; she survives.
He is also survived by eight children: Sherri Lynn Weaver Drake (Wayne), Kimberly Ann Weaver (Mark), Max Richard Weaver, Jr. (Sandy), Kathryn Sue Weaver Tuttle, Gregory Allen Weaver, James Albert Weaver, Timothy Edward Weaver, and Angela Marie Weaver Hunter (Bobby); a sister: Jennifer Cole; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: William Weaver; a son-in-law: Mark Tuttle and a brother-in-law: Clifford Cole.
Rich was previously employed as an examiner for the Illinois Department of Insurance. He was a member of the Oakland Lions Club and enjoyed playing cards and crossword puzzles. He was very devoted to his family.
A private family graveside service will be held. For those who wish, memorials in Rich’s honor may be made to the Oakland-Hindsboro Charitable Foundation.
