Obituary for Mary Jane Snively
Mary Jane Snively, age 93, of Chrisman went home to be with the Lord on March 14th 2015 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living.
Mary Jane was born February 28, 1922 in Hoopeston, IL to Maurice and Minnie Ethel (Roe) Cram. She was one of five children and married Fred C. Snively, Jr. on November 16, 1940. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage prior to his death on July 13, 1990.
Mary Jane’s family was very special to her. She was a loving mother to six children: three daughters and three sons, and dearly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She loved flowers, especially lilacs; and also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by four children: Sharon K. (Neil) Gill of Westville, IL, Karen Lu (Roland) Carter of Cunningham, TN, Michael C. (Donna) Snively of Valrico, FL, and Christi Ann (Bill) Brinkley of Chrisman, IL; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Snively of Gentryville, IN; a sister: Judith Field; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Maurice “Morey” Cram Snively and Frederick (Freddie) Carl Snively III; two sisters: Pauline Kimberlin and Janice Wood; and one brother: Maurice”Bus” Cram.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chrisman United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gene Creek officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at noon. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to the Chrisman United Methodist Church. Krabel Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
