Martha Louise Snoddy, age 96, of Ashmore, IL, died September 8, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Martha was born September 12, 1928, in Paris, IL, to Vern and Verna (Milburn) Essinger. She married Roy F. Snoddy Jr. on April 8, 1946; he preceded her in death.
Martha was a longtime resident of Ashmore, where she and Roy made their home after marrying. She was a homemaker and dearly loved her family. She also enjoyed her pets, puzzles, crosswords, gardening, yard work and traveling to Florida.
She is survived by six children: Sandy Bradford of Ashmore, IL, Kathy Cordier (Gary) of Charleston, IL, Karen Hardwick of Ashmore, IL, Debbie Buell (Greg) of Ashmore, IL, Kim Schwartz (Denny) of Ashmore, IL, and David Maxey (Sheila) of Ashmore, IL; twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, six sisters, two great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law: Jim Bradford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. For those who wish, memorials in Martha’s honor may be made to the Coles County Animal Shelter.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
