Obituary for Lucille Carwell
Lucille (Bartimus) Carwell, age 76 of Oakland, died Monday, July 26, 2010 at Newman Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Lucille was born December 14, 1933 in Fayette County, Illinois to Jess and Leona (Harris) Bartimus. She married Harold Carwell on March 12, 1955 at Booth Library on Eastern Illinois University’s campus in Charleston. She was a teacher at Kansas High School for forty years. Lucille loved teaching, and also enjoyed cooking sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Antioch Separate Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Harold Carwell; one sister, Wilma Swanson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Kent H. Carwell, two sisters and six brothers. Visitation will be held at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland on Thursday, July 29 from noon to 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Janesville Cemetery.
