Obituary for Louise M. Allen
Louise M. Allen, 87, of Oakland, Illinois went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at her home. She was born June 10, 1925 in Douglas County, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Reed) Jones. She married Ed “Shavey” Allen in Missouri on September 26, 1942. They celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to his death in January, 2000. She is survived by 3 children: Rev. Ron (Barb) Allen of Hammond, LA; Dr. Ed (Kathy) Allen of Land o’ Lakes, FLA; and Ramona Kuykendall of Oakland, IL. She is also survived by: Nine grandchildren: Jan (Michael) Frame of Danville, IN; Angela Davis of Downs, IL; Sarah (Mike) Morgan of Hammond, LA; Cary (Johana) Allen of Bristow, VA; Ginger (Kendyl) Terry of Casper, WY; Stephanie (Melvin) Norris of Oakland, IL; Missy Bradburn of Land o’ Lakes, FL; Charla (William) Robinson of Charleston, IL; and Jodi (Jason) Coe of Oceanside, CA. Twenty-four great-grandchildren: Zachary, Jacob, James and Caleb Knoblett and Carol (Knoblett) Delp, Meagan (Kincaid) Creel, Jon Stephen Kincaid, Alex and Josh McBride, Kayla, Jessica and Michael Morgan, Daniel and Dominic Allen, Kennedy and Kallen Terry, Eleni and Seth Ethington, Eryn Bradburn, Kaeli Stewart, Katherine and Charles Robinson and Brody and Ryder Coe. Three great-great-grandchildren: Jaidyn and Preston Creel and Jonah Delp and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed “Shavey” Allen; one brother, William “Danny” Jones; one sister, Helen Jones; one infant brother; one daughter-in-law, Sue Allen; one son-in-law, Charles Kuykendall; four sisters-in-law, Cora Long, Mary Corray, Elsie Casebeer and Winnie Woods; one brother-in-law, Ralph Allen and her mother and father-in-law, Lee and Stella Allen. Louise was a former member of the Murdock Methodist Church and current long-time member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, rural Oakland. Music was a life-long talent which she shared with others by singing at weddings, funerals, nursing homes and many churches. She devoted her life to sharing God’s message to others through her strong faith, her music and her life’s witness. Her children were privileged to be raised by such loving, Christian parents. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, but we rejoice that she is now singing in God’s Holy Choir. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1st from 4-7 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, rural Oakland. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, IL.
