Louie F. Mays Jr, age 86 of Oakland, Illinois passed away on October 29, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
He was born on November 9, 1935, in Champaign, Illinois to Louie F. Mays Sr and Irma G (Walker/Mays) Owen. At the age of 29, he married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Watson of Oakland on October 4, 1968.
Lou always lived life to the fullest and was always ready for an adventure. He loved board games, fishing, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He had a huge sense of humor and the best laugh! He has left his family with only the best of memories.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, stepfather Robert Owen, and a brother Barry Mays.
He is survived by children, Troy Mays, Lisa Wright (Larry Wright), and Terry Mays; grandchildren, Gavin Wright, Cassandra Bauer (Dallas Bauer), Joshua Willis, Tyler Mitchell, Kaylyn Mays, Canae Mays, Kiley Mays, and Trevyr Mays.
In accordance with Lou’s wishes, he was cremated and there will be no services. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
