Obituary for Lois Mae Harp
Lois Mae (Weddle) Harp, age 87, of Chrisman, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. Lois was born January 18, 1925 in Metcalf, IL to Clyde Ellsworth and Faye Constance (Tresner) Weddle. She married Paul W. Harp on August 27, 1956 in Metcalf. She is survived by three children: Pam Harp of Chrisman, IL, Paula (Chris) Stierwalt of Danville, IL, and Kevin (Sylvia) Harp of Ogden, UT; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Harp of Hume, IL; a brother, Herman (Elaine) Weddle of Metcalf, IL; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Harp; four children: Steve Weddle, Debbie Harp, Wally Harp and Paul Harp, Jr.; three brothers; three sisters and two granddaughters Christi Lynn Harp & April Mae Harp. Lois was a lifelong resident of Edgar County. She previously worked at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village from 1974 until her retirement in 1982. She belonged to the Ivy Rebecca Lodge and the Hesperius Lodge. She was a member of the Chrisman Christian Church for 55 years, and blessed the congregation there with beautiful music on the piano and organ for many of those years. She loved to crochet and do crafts, and enjoyed collecting dolls. She was also a die-hard Cubs fan. Rest in peace our loving mother. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chrisman Christian Church. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
