Lois Louise (Richey) Coon, age 88, of Oakland, IL, died Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Lois was born August 20, 1935, in Ashmore, IL, to Allen and Beatrice (Shoot) Richey. She married Paul Coon on July 25, 1952; he preceded her in death in 2023.
She is survived by survived by a son: Steve Coon of Oakland, IL; five grandchildren: Casey Coon (David Fletcher), Chad Coon, Chris Coon, Kelly Murphy (Matt), and Krystal Hill (Johnathan); five great-grandchildren: Mitchell Murphy, Mason Murphy, Rylee Hill, Brock Hill, and Cash Coon; and a sister: Virginia Brown. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son: Gene Coon; three brothers and four sisters.
Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed cleaning.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials in Lois’ honor may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church.
