Obituary for Lois Eilene Jordan
Lois Eilene Jordan, age 89, of Oakland passed away at 9:25 p.m., Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charleston. Mrs. Jordan was born on September 6, 1924 to Ted and Ethel (Browning) Barnes in rural Humboldt, IL. She married Jesse Campbell on June 20, 1942 in Oakland, IL. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1981. She then married Pete Jordan on December 29, 1984 at the Oakland Christian Church. He also preceded her in death on July 21, 2004. Mrs. Jordan is survived by four sons: Bob (Sue) Campbell of Oakland, IL, Ted (Claudia) Campbell of Springfield, IL, Tom Jordan of Champaign, IL and Bob (Mary) Jordan of Oakland, IL; ten grandchildren: Brent (Krista) Campbell of Heyworth, IL, Kevin (Jennifer) Campbell of Heyworth, IL, Tiffany (Darrin) Acton of Leroy, IL, Dax (Erin) Campbell of Chatham, IL, Derek (Briana) Campbell of Houston, TX, Brent (Leah) Jordan of Philadelphia, PA, Kara (John) Leaman of Tolono, IL, Kara (Dan) Steinert of Champaign, IL, Emmy (Andrew) Dowden of Oakland, IL and Carrie (Jared) Kass of Indianapolis, IN; and twenty four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Kenny Barnes, and one daughter, Doris Jordan. She was a lifelong member of the Oakland area and worked for several years at Oakland Farm Supply. She was a member of the Oakland Christian Church. She greatly enjoyed oil painting, collecting rocks, square dancing and attending festivals. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Shields Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Oakland Christian Church.
