Obituary for Lois Ann Simpson
Lois Ann (Porter) Simpson, 85, of Chrisman IL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was born August 27, 1931 in Metcalf, IL, the daughter of Terrance Clark “TC” and Marguerite (Bolen) Porter. She married Everett L. Simpson on July 14, 1951. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved music and continued to participate as a vocalist through Christmas of last year. Lois was a lifelong member of the Metcalf Christian Church and an active member of the Eastern Star. She was also previously a township supervisor for Young America Township and a library assistant at Shiloh Grade School. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Brenda Grisamore; a son-in-law, Terry Grisamore; a brother, Russell Porter; and a great-granddaughter, Paightin Simpson. Lois is survived by her sons: Clark (Lynn) Simpson of Middletown, IN, Mark (Cheryl) Simpson of Chrisman IL, and Jay (Debbie) Simpson of Charleston IL; grandchildren: Luke (Mandi) Simpson, Melinda Cruse, Nathan (Lauren) Simpson, Trent (Sis) Simpson, James (Alexis) Simpson, Jonathon (Kenzie) Simpson, Chad (Debbie) Grisamore, Ryan (Keegan) Grisamore, Kala Grisamore, Matthew Simpson, Rebecca Simpson, and Brittaney Simpson; and 16 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at the Metcalf Christian Church on Monday, December 26 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the church. For those who would like, memorials may be made in Lois’ name to the Metcalf Christian Church, the East Harrison Street Church of God, or the donor’s choice.
